Oh God, Please Help Me!
Dear Friend,
if you do not know Jesus Christ as the God of your life, you need to settle
some urgent matters with Him. Before we go any farther, or do another thing,
let’s go to God together and do business.
God Himself promised us in His Holy Word, the Bible, that when we
sincerely come to Him with a broken heart, He will hear and answer our prayers.
The first thing to do is for you to make peace with Him by having all your sins
forgiven. That way, the barrier between
you and God is torn down so that the two of you can get to know each other.
Just take a few minutes and
pray this prayer with all your heart
Dear God,
“Please give me faith as I pray this. I am
in real trouble, and I need your help. Please forgive me of my many sins. I am
sorry I have lived mostly for myself up to now. I admit I have squandered the
life you gave me by making such a mess of it.
I want to make a fresh start. With you help, I will live for you from now
on. Please come into my life in a real and powerful way. I give all of me,
everything that I am to you. I hold nothing back. Please take control of my heart and come and
live in me.
Please be my God and help me to be your
child. I place my life completely in your hands forever. I ask these things in
the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who died for me, whom you raised back to
life, so that I too can live. I accept
your Holy Spirit into my heart.
Amen”
If you sincerely
prayed that prayer and meant it, God has written your name in the Book of Life.
That means that He has entered a Covenant with you to be your God. He has come
into your heart by supernaturally breathing His Spirit into your mind and body.
You have just been born into new life as a Child of God. As you learn to listen
to His voice you will begin to trust and obey Him. Your eyes will be opened to
see Him and every thing around you in a new and profound way. You have just
passed from eternal death to eternal life.
This is just
the beginning. If you have a Bible, open it to the book of John and begin to
read. Let God speak to you from His Word. If you do not have a Bible, get one
as soon as you can because you will develop a hunger for God and a thirst for
what He has to say to you in the Scriptures.
Welcome to the real world! For thousands of years countless millions
have come to Him in the same way you have. No one has ever been disappointed
who have come to know and trust Jesus Christ. He is God, and now you belong
personally to Him. He loves you with an intensity that will surprise and
delight you.
Bring all
your needs to Him. He will give you the strength to walk through the dark times
that may be ahead. He has promised to
carry you when you are too tired and weak to go any further. You will never be
alone again. Even though others you love will always fail you, He never
will. Let God help you seek out some
brothers and sisters in the Lord who will become your spiritual family. Ask Him
to guide your footsteps. He told us that we are His sheep, and He is our
Shepherd:
“My sheep listen to my
voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life;
and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than
all; and no man can pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.” (John 10: 27 – 30)
