The Hosea Project

“Letter to the Pastor”

Introduction

This page contains 3 links to the Hosea Project “Letter to the Pastor,” and its’ supporting notes and documents. The first link contains a 3 page formal letter, in English, addressed to pastors and Christian leaders, encouraging them to defend the Biblical prohibitions against divorce and remarriage. When viewed on the internet, the reader will notice a series of imbedded links, numbered 1-12, that point to notes, documents and references in support of the issues under discussion.

The second link contains 33 pages of the before mentioned supporting notes, documents and references to the “Letter to the Pastor” that should always accompany the letter when printed, or distributed. It is our goal that a copy of this letter, along with the provided documentation, be delivered to, and read by, every Christian pastor, priest and leader worldwide, regardless of denominational lines of descent, or theological construct. The third link is a copy of this page of instructions and details.

Organization

Hosea Project volunteers are at the heart of this ministry. They come from many different walks of life, from many different denominational persuasions. Each is unpaid, individually bearing the costs, financially, by copying and distributing this letter, and socially, by being willing to stand up for what’s right and take action, instead of remaining silent any longer.

Stand up, Stand up for Jesus

Who do I sent it to?

Send out a copy of the “Letter to the Pastor” to every pastor and church leader “within your reach!”  You may ask, “what is within my reach?’” To you that may mean your own local church or it may mean every church in your neighborhood, or city. That is between you and God. The important thing is to start right now, for everyday we wait, more and more families are destroyed.

How do I start?

Copy both PDF files to your computer, and print them once. Then make as many copies of the 36 pages (3 page letter plus 33 pages of notes) as you need for each pastor and church leader within your reach. (It may be more cost effective to use a photocopier for all copies except the first one.) Staple the pages containing the notes together in proper order, but leave the letter pages loose. Put each copy, and supporting notes, unfolded into a large envelope and seal it shut. You could either hand deliver each package, or research out the names and addresses of all the pastors and leaders required, address the envelopes, and post in the mail. It is up to you as to whether you wish to identify yourself to the receiver or not.

Have your missionary initiative reach around the world!

Turn those who agree with you and your stand into Hosea Project volunteers, the same way you are. Encourage them to visit this website, download the material, and send copies to everyone within their reach also, and help them to encourage those who agree with them to become involved in the same way. Before you know it, there may be untold numbers of marriages and families rescued around the globe because you stood up for Jesus and took action.

What about other countries?

Go for it! Have them come to this website for the material they need to get started. We are praying that God will provide those who will accurately translate the material into the many languages needed to accomplish the task. As different versions in other languages become available, they will be posted here for reading, downloading and copying.

What can I expect?

Many will not receive this message gladly, in fact some will harden their hearts and scoff at the letter and do all they can to discredit it and everything it says. They may also turn against those who have dared to confront them with these truths. However, all those who seek God with all their hearts will find Him, and the Holy Spirit will empower them to understand and proclaim the truth concerning marriage, divorce and remarriage as revealed in Scripture.

It is not up to any of us to convince anyone of the truth. That is the Holy Spirits’ job. Our responsibility is prayerfully present the truth in as clear and Biblically correct a way as possible, in love, and let God do the rest. Remember, without a Pharaoh there may never have been a Moses. Be faithful to do your part to plant the seeds, and leave the results in His hands. Pray without ceasing.

Dr. Joseph A. Webb

Joseph Webb has been an ordained minister since 1957. Since that time he has ministered as a youth pastor, family counselor, pastor and evangelist. He is a frequent guest on Christian radio and television programs throughout the United States. As a seminar speaker and evangelist he continues to minister to dozens of different denominational groups internationally. Pastor Webb’s teachings have been widely received by both tapes and books. His latest book, “Till Death Do Us Part?” is now in its fifth printing.  Joseph answers the questions about God’s universal Marriage law: When was it established? To whom does it apply? Which marriage does God recognize? Does the New Testament ever recognize divorce; and are there exceptions? Christian Principles Restored Ministries can be reached as follows:

Rev. Dana Hartong

Pastor Hartong has been a teacher and pastor laboring amongst God’s people for the last 44 years.  His teaching skills and pastoral experience has served as the foundation for “the call of a lifetime” for the past 23 years, when after a close call on their own marriage, he and his wife Val founded the “New Hope for Broken Marriages” ministry. Their ministry has provided a bright light in a dark world as they have personally counseled over 3,000 couples in the throws of divorce and restoration. Few, if any, of God’s people down through the ages have a deeper understanding of the real issues involved in marriage, divorce and remarriage. They have seen the ugly underbelly of false teaching in the church like few others ever will or want to. They have influenced literally tens of thousands for Christ through their letters, phone conversations, teaching tapes and a book named after their ministry, “New Hope for Broken Marriages”.  They can be reached as follows:
