Welcome
to the home page of the “Spirit of Hosea” Christian support and fellowship
community through Yahoogroups. It is intended to be a safe community for those
who believe and practice the Biblical principles concerning marriage, divorce
and remarriage so that we can stand together and not be alone and isolated from
those of like mind and spirit.
Because
there are so many false doctrines prevalent in today’s Church, we think it
advisable to define our common beliefs in such a way that there is little room
for misunderstanding and friction between members.
To become
and remain a member of the Spirit of Hosea fellowship, we ask you to read and
agree to each of the following articles of understanding:
1. Marriage is an institution designed and
administered by God for a lifelong union in Holy Matrimony of one man and one
woman, according to the Scriptures
2. God
hates divorce and never sanctions it for covenant marriages. A covenant
marriage is a union where God has joined a man who does not have another living
pre-existent wife, to a woman that does not have another living pre-existent
husband into what the Bible calls a one-flesh relationship, according to the
Scriptures
3. A husband or wife are not to separate from, or
divorce their spouse, but if they are, whether
voluntarily or involuntarily, they must remain single and celibate as long as
they both live, or else be reconciled, according to the Scriptures
4. A marriage may be violated, but not
invalidated by adultery committed by either the husband or the wife, or both,
according to the Scriptures
5. Any marriage entered into by any man or woman
who has a living pre-existing husband or wife is not a one-flesh covenant
marriage that is recognized by God, and is considered to be the sin of
adultery, and must be repented of and forsaken, according to the Scriptures.
6. All homosexual relationships are forbidden by
God. Homosexual marriages or any union of a woman to a woman, or a man to a man
is an abomination in the eyes of God, and must be repented of and forsaken, according
to the Scriptures.
7. To use the highest form of Christian charity
and love in all communications as a member of this group. This ministry adheres
to the Nicene Creed and seeks to serve God and our brothers and sisters in
Christ. Although theological debates may take place, we caution all members to
carefully discern the difference between disputable matters and foundational truths
as defined in Romans 14:1-10.
Please
remember that those from many different denominational and cultural traditions
will be invited to join this fellowship so great care must be taken not to
offend because of individual preferences not central to the faith we have in
common. It is also a good idea not to post long articles by other authors that
flood the messages. Great care must be taken not to post material that is
written by other ministries that do not support our articles of association. If
in doubt, ask one of our moderators. Most standers organizations are
compromised on this subject, so material from them should them should not be
presented here.
No prayers or supplications to any deities or saints other than to
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit will be permitted. Neither will any
advertising, commercial activity, marketing schemes or spam be allowed. Any
attempt to communicate any suggestions of a romantic nature to any other
member, or the use of bad language, or serious dispute of the stated
theological marriage, divorce and remarriage positions may result in a written
warning, or instant removal from the group without warning, at the option of
the moderators.
Acceptance
of the invitation to join this e-mail group signifies your complete agreement
of all the above articles of understanding. We rejoice that you have decided to
join us in fellowship, friendship and mutual prayer and support. May God bless
